VFD Holiday Party 2016

I really look forward to the holidays, especially our annual staff party. It's becoming a holiday tradition for me to join forces with my good friend Tien, chef and owner of Mai Thai Restaurant in San Leandro, to host a holiday party for our teams and families. They have been so supportive throughout the years and instrumental in our success, so this is the least we can do to show our gratitude. Tien and I work hard to outdo previous years, and this year's dinner was a sumptuous feast for the eyes and tummy.

This year, we chose a classic red Christmas theme, with gorgeous poinsettias, deep red roses, red crested celosia and berries to accent the interior of the Mai Thai dining room. We created a large dramatic arch with graceful branches and whimsical berries to accent.

Our table centerpieces also featured hints of parrot tulips, red verbena, and lots of greenery, nestled between the twinkling candles that provided both light and warmth for our 40 attendees.

Meanwhile, Tien cooked up an incredible buffet-style meal for us to enjoy, and we ate to our heart's content. The evening was spent remembering the year and all of its activity, laughing at all the inside jokes, celebrating each other and sharing in each other's company.

We had so much fun and would have loved to invite more of our extended staff and vendors and partners who have supported us throughout the years. But due to space constraints, we could only invite our closest family and immediate staff. We still want to wish everyone a warm holiday season filled with peace and joy in your hearts. We cannot wait to see what the new year will bring to all of us.
