Brazillian Room Wedding

The ceremony site is almost always my favorite place to decorate because I believe it is where the most important and sentimental part of the wedding day occurs. The bride and groom lock eyes as she glides down the aisle; the guests flow happy tears; the vows are exchanged; the first kiss takes place - it's the reason we celebrate a wedding. There is so much tangible and raw emotion. As such, it's also such a great opportunity for beautifully candid photos. We love creating floral backdrops for all these important moments, and this wedding was no exception.

If you haven't been, Tilden Park in the East Bay is an incredible place for panoramic views of the Bay, winding trails for avid hikers, Lake Anza for swimming, and even a petting zoo and miniature train for the kids. Tilden feels like such a getaway, despite its proximity to town. And the jewel of them all is the English-style Brazillian Room nestled right in its heart.

Set against the Berkeley hills and blue skies, this Braziliian Room wedding featured a cheery lavender palette. For the ceremony, we constructed this beautiful arch, which not only served as a focal point for the ceremony, but also framed the gorgeous skyline. This color scheme was a great contrast to the green hills, and our bride even provided the guests with cute lavender parasols to reinforce the color.

We lined the aisle with tall round floral pieces on glass footed pedestals and added crystal bling. These tall aisle decorations helped to draw the eye toward the center and were later repurposed as centerpieces for the reception. We relied on hydrangeas, roses, orchids, and a touch of astilbe and sweet pea to create this lush design.

We'd like to thank this bride and groom for donating their wedding flowers after the event, as we were able to gather, re-design and share the new arrangements with residents of a local senior home. We hope you enjoyed this gorgeous lavender wedding at the Brazilian Room.
