James + Stacey - Boundary Oak Golf Course Wedding
Today I want to share with you a cute story from one of our 2016 brides. James, a firefighter, and Stacey, an educator, met on a dating site "before that was even the cool thing to do" (her words, not mine!). And after dating for nearly 10 years, James proposed by placing a ring box around their dog Dixie's collar so Stacey would find it when Dixie greeted her as she came home from work. What a sweet proposal! And what a sweet wedding that followed.
We followed up with Stacey and James after the wedding for a short interview.
What was the best decision you made during the planning process?
The main thing we wanted for our wedding was for it to be relaxed and fun. We decided to not have a wedding party which was probably one of the best decisions we made. It kept the day about us instead of worrying about if everyone else had things they needed, etc. Our day turned out to be everything we wanted and we couldn't have been happier.
What was one memory that stood out for you most on your wedding day?
There were so many great moments. Probably for me, sharing my father/daughter dance with my grandfather. He played a big role in raising me as a child and I wanted him to be a part of our wedding as much as possible. I knew he would be emotional, but I didn't imagine he'd cry as much as he did.
This cute peachy-white wedding featured our signature arch flowing with orchids and roses; a big round bouquet with touches of rose, poppy, ranunculus, dusty miller, succulent and sweet pea; and similarly themed centerpieces with additional orchids, dahlias, and hydrangea.
